Nitric oxide (NO) is a colorless toxic gas that is difficult to dissolve in water under standard conditions. It has a blue color in a liquid and solid state. Because of free radicals, its chemical properties are very active. When reacting with oxygen, the corrosive gas NO2 can be formed. It can be used in semiconductor oxidation/CVD processes.
